I’m Thankful For The 10 Most Anticipated Movies Coming Out In November 2018

The Prestige Movie Season starts in earnest in October. That means lots of really great movies are gonna be coming out the next 3 months. October is a mix of horror movies and some very anticipated Oscar Bait.

Honorable Mention:

Nutcracker and the 4 Realms (admittedly, in hopes it looks as ridiculous as it seems)

Ralph Breaks the Internet

Creed II

In reverse order:

10 Boy Erased Should be a well acted drama and about the horrors of gay conversion therapy, and further proof that Lucas Hedges will end up being one of the hottest talents for the next few years, meaning he’ll probably become a superhero soon…
9 Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald I wasn’t a big fan of the first film, however, bringing Dumbledore back into the picture, and exploring his past is a smart pivot by JK Rowling…
8 The Girl in the Spider’s Web The big mainstream movie role Claire Foy has been building towards, playing everyone’s favorite bisexual Norwegian computer hacker, Lisbeth Salander.
7 A Private War Investigative journalism movies pass into the realm of war correspondents, who are long overdue for a great film about some of the most brave, selfless people on the planet…
6 The Favourite Yorgos Lanthimos movies are always interesting, sometimes special. This one might be his best yet, satirizing British politics in the 18th Century, a better use of his strange dialogue than films in the present day…
5 Bohemian Rhapsody Queen gets the Straight Outta Compton treatment. Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury has a chance to be something really cool to see, and we’ll see if Queen is as interesting as NWA was…
4 The Ballad of Buster Scruggs The first of many prestige films Netflix is offering this awards season. They smartly used their dollars on the Coen Brothers, who will bring us another fun, interesting western with their exhaustive list of talented actors and actresses at their disposal.
3 If Beale Street Could Talk Barry Jenkins follow up to the correct Best Picture Winner of 2016 should be another fascinating character study that also contains some societal critiques sublimely woven into the movie’s tapestry. Also, it’s based on a James Baldwin novel, so…there’s zero chance it’s not stellar.
2 Overlord Another very interesting spin on the World War II movie, which involves supernatural elements as a result of Nazi lab testing. It could be either awful or great, and early signs point to the latter…
1 Widows Another Best Picture winner, Steve McQueen, has what looks to be a tense, cleverly written thriller about wives cleaning up after a botched heist. Viola Davis running a heist? Sounds like a must see to me!
